GOD’S GRACE | Eph. 3:8-13

To me…this grace was given [ Eph. 3:8 ]

The word ‘grace’ in Greek is ‘charis’. It is the graciousness of an act or manner. Grace is the divine influence upon the heart of man, and its reflecton in his life. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creaton; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17). The divine influence upon the heart of a man, who believes and receives the salvaton provided by grace, can be seen; it reflects in his life. There is a change, a transformaton that takes place in that life.

The Oxford Advanced Learners’ Dictonary defnes grace as God’s mercy and favour toward the human race; the influence and the result of this. Grace is simply defned as unmerited favour. God’s grace is the unmerited favour of God toward men. Merriam Webster Dictonary defnes grace as unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneraton or sanctfcaton. It is a virtue coming from God. To receive grace is to receive approval, favour, mercy or privilege. When you receive grace, you get what is given to you by virtue of God’s goodness and mercies. Grace is that enablement to do what God wants you to do, and to have what He wants you to have.

Paul was given grace to preach among the Gentles the unsearchable riches of Christ (v.8). He was chosen to explain God’s mysterious plan that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorites in the heavenly places (v. 10 ESV). This eternal plan was revealed through Christ. We can now come boldly and confdently into God’s presence because of Christ, and our faith in Him.

Prayer: Thank you Father for Your divine influence upon my heart, and for making me a new creature in Christ. Strengthen Christans everywhere and me to be bold in our faith, and to serve as faithful ambassadors for Christ.

Confession: In Christ, I can come before God with freedom and without fear. God is working in me to help me want to do and be able to do what pleases Him. I do all things without complaining or arguing. I live a clean, innocent life as a child of God, shining like a bright light in a wicked world.
